Derek Manning and Jon Peterson threw a combined shut out over 7 innings to defeat the Little Dutchmen of Annville-Cleona. Manning pitched into the 6th and was relieved by Peterson, who recorded the final six outs of the game - the last two coming via strike out.
Chase Gilbert scored the first run of the contest, reaching on an infield single and then stealing second. After advancing to third on an infield ground out, he scored on Derek Manning's ground out to second base. The Black Knights sent 11 batters to the plate in the 4th inning. Jon Beck led off the frame with a double. The bases became loaded two batters later after a walk and a hit by pitch. Greg Gambler doubled in two runs, and later in the inning Hempfield took advantage of back to back infield singles from Derek Manning and Michael Hernandez to score two more runs. With the bases loaded and two outs, Jon Beck delivered the inning's biggest blow by tripling to deep center field and clearing the bases. Hempfield turned double plays in the 5th and 6th innings to quiet potential Annville-Cleona rallies and preserve the shut-out. It was the 9th shut out in Lancaster-Lebanon League Championship history and the first since 2009, when Penn Manor shut out Donegal 11-0.
